Project Release Information
A potential RGB24 access violation was fixed. A fix for a missing resync marker range check was made. A workaround for a nasm bug with the Mach-O/OS X targets was implemented. The precision for RGB<->YUV conversions was improved.
AMD64/EM64T 64-bit support was completed.
Multi-threaded encoding support was introduced.
SSE3/SSE4 optimizations were made. Faster and more
precise MPEG intra quantization was enabled. A bug
in packed pixel format colorspace conversion was
fixed. A no-exec stack security patch was applied.
A fix for bad resync marker length was made.
Decoder robustness was improved for broken streams
containing B-frames. A fix for potential
out-of-bound access to MV bits table was made. An
SSIM quality-metric plugin was added.
This release fixes a potential vulnerability in mbcoding.c as reported in the Secunia advisory SA25711.
A bug with frame-drop in combination with packed
B-frames was fixed. Non-aligned bitstream buffers
were fixed. Several fixes for IA64, for potential
crashes on EM64T, and for a segfault in the VFW
frontend were made.
Improved low bitrate quality and VBV support. Rate-Distortion mode decision for bvops. New post-processing functions: brightness and deringing. New ports: PowerPC and AMD-64. Various decoder and encoder speedups. A few bugs have been squashed.
