A new auto indent engine and a faster file system
browser were added. Various minor feature
improvements and bugfixes were made.

Multiple line fields in the search and replace dialog box. A "Repeat Last Macro" command. Wrapping at the window width is now supported if the wrap margin is set to 0. Dockable windows for viewing registers and markers. Improved rectangular selection. Various bugfixes. This release requires Java 2 version 1.4 or later; Java 2 version 1.3 is no longer supported.

Project Description

jEdit is an Open Source text editor written in Java. It has many useful features, such as syntax highlighting, bracket matching, regular expression searching, multiple file search and replace, folding, and keyboard macros. jEdit also includes a powerful plugin architecture that allows more than 80 plugins to be downloaded and installed from within the editor.
