Several build system changes and fixes were made.
Several Python and Perl related fixes were made.
Bullet plugin fixes were made. Several fixes were
made to the software renderer. A bug with frustvis
and dynavis was fixed, which could cause assertion
errors in case of objects with empty bounding
boxes. A VC7 compiler bug which could cause
serious crashes in shader handling was worked
around. Some changes were made in gmeshanim to
help speed it up. The new preadvance option was
added in the particle system. Significant changes
were made in the sound manager. Some other smaller
fixes and changes were made.

This is the first prerelease of Crystal Space 1.0.
This version is meant to be used for testing.

The VBO extension is now on by default. A new
foliage generator was added. The old
crossbuilder/model loader system has been removed.
The ball mesh has been removed. Instead you should
use genmesh. A lot of memory leaks have been
fixed. The particles mesh has been considerably
improved in performance. A more generic event
system was added. The render priority system has
been changed. A new scene node system has been
implemented. The software renderer has been
completely rewritten. Lots of bugfixes were made,
including fixes for 64-bit computers.

A lot has changed since 0.98r004. The old renderer
has been removed and the new renderer now works a
lot better. Several other new features and
bugfixes were added. The documentation is a lot
better now.

The new renderer architecture is now mature. New
cal3d models (skeletal animation) were added. A
terrain engine that supports modern features like
splatting and scattering was added. The VOS
project has put in a new networking plugin.
Crystal Space now uses "jam" to build, but "make"
compatibility is still provided. The OPCODE
collision detection plugin has been fixed. OPCODE
has no restrictions on commercial usage (as
opposed to RAPID), is faster, and uses less
memory. The Dynavis visibility culler has been
improved. Lots of other fixes and enhancements
were made. The documentation was updated.
